A newly constructed police station was inaugurated at Old Ziro on Saturday by Home Minister Mama Natung, in a move aimed at strengthening law and order infrastructure in the Lower Subansiri district.
Addressing the gathering, Natung said that enhancing policing infrastructure is a key priority of the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu. He stated that the new facility would serve as a vital centre for public safety, security, and citizen services in the region.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mutchu Mithi, MLA and Advisor to the Home and Education departments; Er. Hage Appa, MLA of 17th Ziro-Hapoli (ST) Constituency; Take Ringu, IGP (Western Range), PHQ Itanagar; Oli Perme, Deputy Commissioner of Lower Subansiri; and Keni Bagra, Superintendent of Police, Lower Subansiri. PRI leaders, Gaon Burahs (GBs), and local residents were also present.
The Home Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting peace, effective policing, and people-centric governance in the district.
