A delegation from Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), led by Chairman and Managing Director Manoj Jain, called on the Governor of Sikkim, Om Prakash Mathur, at Raj Bhavan on Sunday. The delegation included Executive Directors, Independent Directors, and senior officials, along with former Rajya Sabha member and BEL Independent Director Pradeep C. Parmar.

The delegation briefed the Governor on BEL’s recent initiatives, innovations in defence technology, enhanced technical capabilities, and its key role during Operation Sindoor.

Governor Mathur appreciated BEL’s contributions towards national defence and technological self-reliance. He also highlighted Sikkim’s progress in green environmental efforts, women empowerment, and strict enforcement of traffic rules.

The Governor further spoke about Major General Sagat Singh’s historic leadership during the 1967 Nathu La Pass conflict, describing it as a source of inspiration for the Armed Forces and the nation.
