Itanagar, Jul 28: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday announced a series of key developmental projects to mark 50 years of Arunachal Pradesh’s statehood. Taking to his official X handle, Khandu described the initiatives as a step beyond celebration — a commitment to the future of the state.
A major highlight is the launch of 50 Golden Jubilee Model Schools with a ₹500 crore investment to strengthen grassroots education.
In the field of sports, the government is setting up a Golden Jubilee Stadium at Yupia, envisioned as a platform for youth engagement and excellence.
The Golden Jubilee Daughters scheme will provide ₹50,000 to every girl child born and fully immunized, promoting healthcare, dignity, and empowerment.
To support meritorious students, the government has introduced the Golden Jubilee Merit Award, offering ₹2 lakh to those securing admissions into premier institutions such as IITs, IIMs, AIIMS, and NLUs.
Under the Golden Jubilee Border Village Illumination initiative, 50 micro-hydel projects will be established to bring electricity to remote border villages.
Additionally, 60 PHCs and CHCs will be upgraded as part of the Golden Jubilee Health Mission to improve healthcare infrastructure.
“These initiatives reflect our resolve to build a stronger Arunachal. This is not just celebration. This is commitment in action,” Khandu stated.
