Union Agriculture Minister Inaugurates Meghalaya Pineapple Fest In New Delhi

The Meghalaya Pineapple Fest was inaugurated on Friday at Dilli Haat, INA, New Delhi by Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma shared the update on his official X handle, highlighting the importance of the event for the state’s farmers and rural communities.

CM Sangma stated that Meghalaya’s pineapples have gained recognition in global markets for their organic cultivation and natural sweetness. He emphasized that the festival aims to bring attention to the hard work of the state’s farmers and ensure they receive fair returns for their produce.

The event also features products from local small-scale industries and Self Help Groups, showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit of rural Meghalaya and its contribution towards building an AtmaNirbhar (self-reliant) state.

CM Sangma invited the public to visit the festival and experience the diverse offerings from Meghalaya.
