Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Chowna Mein, who also holds the Planning & Investment portfolio, attended the “Sampoornata Abhiyaan Samman Samaroh” at the Dorjee Khandu State Convention Centre, Itanagar. The event, organised jointly by the state Planning & Investment Department and NITI Aayog, recognized achievements under the Aspirational District and Block Programmes.

In his speech, Mein described the Abhiyaan as a mission aimed at ensuring all citizens benefit fully from government schemes by converting aspirations into measurable results. He congratulated the awardees and highlighted the exceptional progress of Namsai district, which improved its ranking from 97th to 12th among India’s 112 Aspirational Districts.

Mein praised the efforts of the Deputy Commissioner of Namsai, the BDO of Chongkham, and others for achieving 100% saturation in key performance indicators across several blocks. He set a deadline of December 2025 for full saturation of remaining KPIs in Namsai, Chongkham, Tali (Kra Daadi), and Pongchau (Longding) blocks.

The Deputy Chief Minister announced plans to personally visit Pongchau and Tali blocks during the upcoming winter to monitor progress. He urged officers to intensify monitoring of all flagship programmes with a focus on healthcare, education, nutrition, soil health, and electrification.

At the event, Mein also launched ‘Akanksha Haat,’ a week-long initiative to promote self-help groups and local enterprises, aiming to boost rural economy and community empowerment.

Planning & Investment Commissioner Ankur Garg acknowledged NITI Aayog’s support in fostering competition and collaboration among states for data-driven development.

The programme was attended by MLA Namsai Zingnu Namchoom, Secretaries R.K. Sharma and Sonal Swaroop, NITI Aayog representative San Gupta, and Deputy Commissioners of Namsai and Longding districts.
