Agartala, August 04, 2025: Tripura’s Tipra Motha Party (TMP) founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma on Monday voiced strong concern over the delay in holding the Village Council (VC) elections and said he is prepared to approach the Supreme Court if necessary, citing the growing suffering of rural communities.

Speaking to the media personnel in Agartala city, Debbarma said, “If needed, we will knock on the door of the Supreme Court for the Village Council Election. There are High Court directions to conduct the elections, yet no steps are being taken. Poor people are suffering, and we must ensure justice. If the Election Commission fails to act, we have no choice but to seek legal recourse.”

He emphasized that party alliances should not hinder initiatives meant for public welfare. “There is no rule that alliance partners must agree on everything. This is for our people, and there are exceptions,” he added, hinting at internal differences within the ruling alliance.

On the recent clashes between BJP and Tipra Motha workers, Debbarma expressed disappointment over rising political violence. “When people don’t talk but go to war, there’s no difference between humans and monsters,” he remarked.

Calling for unity, he urged all political parties to come together to fight against the threat of illegal immigration. “Tripura is a small state. To bring in development and attract investment, we must reject violence and promote dialogue,” he said.
