The Nagaland Government held a meeting on Monday with representatives of the Five Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy at the Civil Secretariat in Kohima. The meeting was led by newly appointed Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen, along with other senior officials.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Committee Convenor Tesinlo Semy said the discussion was held at the invitation of the Chief Secretary. He informed that the State Cabinet is scheduled to meet on August 6 to deliberate on the reservation policy issue.
Semy stated that the committee was preparing to launch the third phase of its agitation on Tuesday. However, following the government’s request and in view of the upcoming Cabinet meeting, the committee has decided to defer the planned stir.
