The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority, NSDMA, has issued a weather advisory warning of heavy rainfall across most districts until the 9th of August. According to NSDMA, very heavy rainfall is expected in Peren, Dimapur, Kohima, Wokha, Zunheboto, Mokokchung, Longleng, Mon and Tuensang on August 7 and 8, likely accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning at localized areas.
While intermittent rainfall is expected throughout the state, lowland and foothill areas such as Dimapur, Nuiland, Chumoukedima, Bhandari, Pangti, Tizit and Tuli are vulnerable to water logging and flash floods.
