Agartala, August 07, 2025: Tripura Congress MLA Birajit Sinha from Kailashahar Assembly Constituency once again raised serious concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation in Unkoti district.
Speaking to media personnel on Thursday morning, the veteran Congress leader alleged that the security system in the district has completely collapsed, creating fear among common citizens due to the “irresponsible attitude” of the administration.
“A few days ago, I had said there is no law and order in Unkoti district. In response, the District Superintendent of Police claimed that everything is fine and the administration is functioning. But the ground reality is the exact opposite,” Sinha told reporters.
Highlighting a recent incident, the MLA revealed that on the night of August 5, a series of thefts took place at five educational institutions under Kailashahar subdivision. The affected institutions include Radha Kishore Institution, Ramakrishna Educational Institution, Srirampur Suryamani School, Dhanvilas Higher Secondary School, and Dhanvilas Anganwadi Kendra.
“Is this what we call law and order?” he questioned. “There were thefts at five schools in a single night, and the police have not been able to apprehend even one suspect. This is a clear indication of total administrative failure,” he added.
Sinha said he plans to write to the Director General of Police, demanding urgent action to restore public confidence and security in the district.
