Agartala, August 12, 2025: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced its new promotional prepaid scheme, the “Freedom Plan”, offering unlimited voice calling and 2 GB of high-speed data per day at a recharge of just ₹1. The offer is valid from August 1 to August 31, 2025 and is exclusively available for new connections and customers porting into BSNL in Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura under the North East-1 Telecom Circle.

As part of the plan, BSNL is also bundling a free SIM card with the ₹1 recharge, ensuring zero initial cost for subscribers. The SIMs will be available through BSNL Customer Service Centres (CSCs) and the retail network across the NE-1 Circle.

Highlighting the initiative, Shankar Lal Meena, the General Manager of BSNL, Tripura Business Area, Agartala, said, “The Freedom Plan is designed to give our new and port-in customers an unbeatable combination of affordability and service quality. With just a ₹1 recharge, they can enjoy unlimited calls and 2 GB of high-speed data every day for the first month.”

The General Manager further added, “We are not just introducing a plan; we are strengthening our network to ensure that customers in even the most remote corners of Tripura and the NE-1 Circle have uninterrupted 4G services. Our deployment of Indigenous Technology is a step towards making BSNL’s network more reliable and self-reliant.”

Since its inception in 2000, BSNL has expanded its network coverage to reach across India, with a strong focus on affordable and innovative telecom solutions. The state-owned telecom provider is also preparing to roll out 5G services in the near future.
