Assam Rifles intercepted 466 bags of areca nuts, weighing 35,560 kg and valued at Rs 2.48 crore, in the Ruantlang area of Champhai on 11 August 2025.

The seized consignment has been handed over to the Customs Preventive Force, Champhai, for further investigation and legal action.
