ICFAI University, Tripura Organizes Grand Rally With 650 feet-Long Tiranga On The Eve Of India’s 79th Independence Day

The ICFAI University, Tripura, celebrated the spirit of patriotism on the eve of India’s 79th Independence Day by organizing a vibrant rally featuring a 650 feet-long Tiranga on August 14, 2025.

The rally, held under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, aimed to encourage citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes while instilling a sense of national pride among students, faculty, and staff. Participants carried the massive Tiranga from the University campus through NH108B to Kamalghat Bridge, Kamalghat market, bypass road to Fatickcherra Chowmuhai, and back to the campus.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff, who marched together chanting patriotic slogans and singing national songs. The rally was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Biplab Halder, Vice Chancellor of ICFAI University, along with Padma Shri Dipa Karmakar, the University’s Brand Ambassador.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Halder said, “The Tiranga is a symbol of our unity, diversity, and sovereignty. Carrying it together signifies our collective responsibility to uphold the values of democracy, freedom, and integrity.” He added that the University is committed to providing quality education while fostering values of integrity, service, and nation-building through academic, cultural, and community-oriented programmes.

The event concluded with participants taking a pledge to contribute meaningfully to society and uphold democratic values. The University expressed gratitude to Lefunga Police Station and all others who supported the successful conduct of the rally.
