A three-day training programme on Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi (Round 2) for Anganwadi workers of Jiribam commenced on Saturday at Chingdong Leikai Multipurpose Hall.
The programme is being organised by the ICDS Project, Jiribam, under the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur, with support from the District Administration, Jiribam.
The training aims to enhance awareness among Anganwadi workers on nutritious food and pre-school education for children under six years of age. Over the course of three days, resource persons including Gangabati Adhikarimayum, Ningthoujam Melory, Kh. Chandrika Devi, and Th. Anganbala, all Supervisors of ICDS, will conduct sessions under the overall supervision of Chongtham Umila Devi, CDPO, ICDS Project, Jiribam.
The training covers a wide range of topics such as nutrition and early childhood education, understanding children’s aspirations, domains of development, creating a safe and secure environment, the role of parents and community in child development, age-specific complementary feeding with appropriate consistency and food diversity, and Anganwadi protocols for children with special needs.
A total of 100 Anganwadi workers from various centres across Jiribam are participating in the programme, which will conclude on Monday.
