Agartala, August 20, 2025: In a politically and administratively significant meeting held at the Parliament House, senior leaders from Tripura’s Bharatiya Janata Party Janjati Morcha including state president Rajib Bhattacharjee meet union Home minister Amit Shah on Tuesday.
The discussions centered on accelerating development in Tripura, with a particular focus on the socioeconomic upliftment of tribal communities and the evolving political landscape in the region.

The meeting focused on three key areas. First, tribal welfare and development were discussed extensively, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah assuring participants that the central government would take all necessary measures to maintain peace, stability, and sustained progress in Tripura. Second, in light of the upcoming Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections, the discussion emphasized strengthening the party’s organizational structure and refining campaign strategies in tribal-dominated regions. Third, leaders reviewed the status of ongoing central government projects in the Northeast’s tribal areas and explored future development plans.

The meeting was attended by Sambit Patra, BJP’s coordinator for Northeast India; Tripura Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma; Minister Santana Chakma; MLA Rampada Jamatia; and several senior BJP legislators and party officials.
