Agartala, August 28, 2025: Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Thursday inaugurated the two-day Gomati District Kala Utsav-2025, emphasizing that cultural awakening must go hand-in-hand with academics for the holistic growth of students.

The festival, organised by the Samagra Shiksha District Education Office, Udaipur, is part of a nationwide initiative launched in 2015 to integrate art with education. Kala Utsav serves as a platform for nurturing creativity, encouraging innovation in schools, and identifying student talent at district, state, and national levels.

“Kala Utsav is not just about performances, but about shaping students into well-rounded individuals who can contribute to a brighter future,” said Minister Roy, underlining the state government’s focus on both quality education and cultural development.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by MLAs Abhishek Debroy and Rampada Jamatia, Udaipur Municipal Council Chairperson Shital Chandra Majumder, Gomati DM Rinku Lather, and District Education Officer Kalyan Bhadra, among others.

Students from different schools across Gomati district showcased their artistic skills during the event. Selected participants will move forward to represent the district at the state-level competition, with the possibility of advancing to the national stage.
