Agartala, September 02, 2025: Tripura’s Animal Resource Development Minister Sudhanghsu Das on Tuesday inaugurated the newly constructed Assistant Director’s office building and a modern pig breeding farm at Hawaibari in Teliamura subdivision of Khowai district with much fanfare. The main programme was held at the Paschim (West) Hawaibari Panchayat Community Hall.

ARD, Fisheries and Scheduled Caste Welfare minister Sudhangshu Das graced the occasion as chief guest while MLA and Chief Whip of the Assembly, Kalyani Saha Roy attended as special guest. Senior officials of the department and several dignitaries were also present.

As part of the inaugural ceremony, Minister Das symbolically handed over rooster chicks to five beneficiaries. Addressing the gathering, he said, “The current state government is giving utmost importance to the economic development of the people. Through the Animal Husbandry Department, not only animal husbandry, but also the path of livelihood and economic development is being strengthened.”

He further emphasized that the government’s primary goal is to ensure all-round development for the common people through the implementation of various projects.

MLA Kalyani Saha Roy, in her remarks, said, “The people of Teliamura and Hawaibari areas will directly benefit from this office building and pig breeding farm.”

Local farmers and residents present at the event expressed optimism that the new project would create more employment opportunities and open up fresh avenues for animal husbandry in the region.
