Arunachal Pradesh Police have rescued a 17-year-old girl who went missing from Naharlagun on August 26. The girl was traced to Tezpur in Assam’s Sonitpur district on Tuesday following a focused investigation.

The alleged kidnapper, 19-year-old Shankar Nath, was also apprehended at the location. Naharlagun Superintendent of Police Dr. Neelam Nega confirmed that a case has been registered at the Naharlagun police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
