Security forces carried out a series of successful joint operations across Manipur from August 31 to September 6, leading to the arrest of 11 militants belonging to various hill and valley-based groups and the recovery of weapons, explosives, narcotics, and other war-like stores.

The operations were conducted by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles in close coordination with Manipur Police across Churachandpur, Bishnupur, Chandel, Thoubal, Kakching, Imphal West, and Imphal East districts.

On August 31, Assam Rifles and Imphal East Police apprehended a PREPAK (PRO) cadre involved in extortion from Khongampat, Imphal West. The following day, in a joint action with the Narcotics Control Bureau, 138.5 kg of opium worth approximately ₹6.9 crore was recovered from a concealed cache near British Camp, Sajik Tampak, Chandel district.

On September 3, four active cadres of Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) factions and People’s War Group (PWG) were arrested in Lamshang and Lairenkabi, Imphal West. In another operation at Basikhong Lai Lampak, Bishnupur, security forces nabbed a cadre of the proscribed group PLA.

On September 4, a suspected KCP (PWG) cadre was arrested at Waithou, Thoubal, while a separate operation at Saiton Gap, Bishnupur, led to the recovery of a cache of arms and ammunition, including an INSAS rifle, single-barrel guns, a pistol, explosives, and live rounds.

On September 6, security forces seized 690 litres of spurious liquor during a mobile vehicle check at Waikhong Bazar, Kakching, and arrested four individuals. On the same day, during a joint operation with Churachandpur Police, a massive rocket filled with high explosives weighing nearly 100 kg was recovered from dense forests near S. Lonphai village. The rocket, fitted with a battery mechanism, contained about 30–40 kg of white cylindrical explosives.

The Ministry of Defence said these coordinated efforts by the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and Manipur Police underscore their firm commitment to maintaining peace and security in Manipur.
