The District Magistrate of Churachandpur, Dharun Kumar S., has issued an order prohibiting the carrying, use, or brandishing of air guns in the district with immediate effect.

The order comes in view of the upcoming visit of a VVIP to the district, for which elaborate security arrangements are being made. Authorities noted that the use of air guns could cause alarm, confusion, or pose potential security threats during the programme.

Exercising powers under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, the District Magistrate declared the ban will remain in force until further orders.

The notice further warned that violators would face legal action under relevant provisions of the law. The Superintendent of Police, Churachandpur, has been instructed to ensure strict enforcement of the order.
