Agartala, September 15, 2025: To mark World First Aid Day, the Indian Army organized a First Aid Training Workshop at Manipur and Agartala. The workshop emphasized the importance of first aid as the first line of defense in saving lives during accidents, medical emergencies and natural disasters.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from NCC cadets of 71 NCC Girls Bn and 4 Assam Bn along with college students from NIT Agartala, Women’s College and Netaji Subash Mahavidyalaya. Participants were trained in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), wound management and emergency preparedness for climate-related events, equipping them with practical skills to respond effectively in crisis situations. A lecture on Basic First Aid techniques was also delivered, covering recognition of common medical emergencies, stabilization methods and safe evacuation practices.
Similarly training along with a workshop on Basic First Aid Care to troops was also conducted at Leimakhong Military Station, Manipur by medical officer and paramedical staff. This was aimed to promote awareness and skills in emergency response.
The event focused on equipping individuals with knowledge and confidence to respond to medical emergencies effectively.
The initiative not only strengthened the knowledge base and confidence of NCC cadets and students but also instilled the ethos of community first responders, enhancing resilience in both civilian and military domains. The outreach raised awareness about the importance of first aid, equipping individuals with basic lifesaving skills and community empowerment.
