Eight Meghalaya Ministers Submit Resignations Ahead Of Cabinet Reshuffle

Eight ministers in the Meghalaya government have resigned ahead of a planned cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday evening. Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma submitted their resignations to Governor C H Vijayashankar at Raj Bhavan, Shillong. The new cabinet is scheduled to be sworn in at 5 pm.

The outgoing ministers are Ampareen Lyngdoh, AL Hek, Paul Lyngdoh, Comingone Ymbon, Rakkam A Sangma, Abu Taher Mondal, Kyrmen Shylla, and Shakliar Warjri. This development paves the way for new appointments from the NPP, UDP, HSPDP, and BJP.

According to sources, the NPP will induct Wailadmiki Shylla, Sosthenes Sohtun, Brening A Sangma, and Timothy D Shira. UDP leaders Metbah Lyngdoh and Lahkmen Rymbui, HSPDP’s Methodius Dkhar, and BJP’s Sanbor Shullai are also set to join the cabinet.

The reshuffle reflects a strategic realignment within the state government ahead of the upcoming legislative session.
