Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Appointment of Justice Biswajit Palit as Permanent Judge of Tripura High Court

Agartala, September 16, 2025: The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of Tripura High Court Additional Justice Biswajit Palit as a permanent judge of the High Court. Justice Palit, who joined the judicial service in 2001, was elevated as an additional judge of the Tripura High Court in 2023.

In a separate development, the Supreme Court Collegium also approved the proposal to make Karnataka High Court Additional Justice Kurubarahalli Venkataramareddy Arvind a permanent judge. Furthermore, three judicial officers – Geeta Kadava Bharataraja Setty, Muralidhara Pai Barkatte, and Thyagaraja Narayan Inavalli – have been recommended for appointment as judges of the Karnataka High Court.

The Collegium additionally approved the elevation of N. Senchilkumar and G. Arul Murugan, currently serving as additional judges in the Madras High Court, to permanent judgeship.

Meanwhile, the Himachal Pradesh High Court has recommended the names of two senior advocates, Zia Lal Bhardwaj and Ramesh Verma, for appointment as judges.

The final appointments will be confirmed following approval by the President of India.
