Agartala, September 17, 2025: Claiming the top position in providing customer service under the Pan-India Airport rankings in Northeast India, Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport at Agartala begins ‘Yatri Sewa Diwas’ celebrations on Wednesday following directives from the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

Earlier, speaking to the media personnel here on Tuesday, Airport Director Kailash Chandra Meena announced that passengers at the airport will be welcomed with traditional ‘Chandan Tilak’ as part of the celebrations. The inaugural ceremony of a tree plantation drive will see the presence of renowned gymnast and Padma Shri awardee, who will join passengers in planting trees. A folk dance performance is also scheduled to be held at the arrival hall during peak hours.

Director Meena further elaborated on a range of passenger-centric activities planned for the day, including quiz and painting competitions for children in the Secure Hold Area (SHA), photo booths showcasing airport branding at various locations such as the concourse, departure, SHA, arrival, and city side areas depending on space availability.

In addition, a blood donation camp and free health check-up kiosks offering BP, sugar, hemoglobin tests, and eye check-ups (especially for autorickshaw and taxi drivers outside the terminal) will be organized. School students from class 10th to 12th will also be invited for educational visits to the airport as part of the event.
