Agartala, September 19, 2025: Tripura government’s ruling coalition partner Tipra Motha Party (TMP) will be vocal on two major issues during the ongoing assembly session, Minister Animesh Debbarma announced at a press conference held on the eve of the Assembly session on Friday.
Debbarma stated that his party will raise questions through a “short notice discussion” on the implementation of the tripartite agreement signed with the government. Alongside this, they will also seek answers regarding steps taken to curb illegal infiltration.
“Even while being a part of the government, many issues remain unknown to us. That is why Tipra Motha will demand answers on these two matters in the interest of the people,” Debbarma said.
Clarifying his party’s stand, the minister remarked, “The assembly is not a battlefield of money. It is a place to discuss issues concerning the interests of the people. Some may think Tipra Motha is speaking against the government while being in it, but that is not the case. We are a small part of the government and do not know everything. Therefore, as representatives of the people, we will raise these questions.”
He further added that the party’s primary concern lies with the backward sections of the Tiprasa community. “No one is talking about them. Under the right to information, Tipra Motha will demand clarity and accountability in the assembly,” Debbarma stressed.
