Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang Meets Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and conveyed the state’s gratitude for his leadership, support, and guidance that have contributed to Sikkim’s progress and prosperity.

During the meeting, Tamang congratulated the Prime Minister on the launch of GST 2.0, calling it a significant reform to strengthen ease of doing business, support small and medium enterprises, and ease the tax burden on citizens.

The Chief Minister also recalled the Prime Minister’s planned visit to Sikkim during the Golden Jubilee of Statehood in May 2025, which was cancelled due to adverse weather. He extended a fresh invitation for the Prime Minister to visit the state at the end of November 2025.

Tamang raised long-pending issues of historical, social, political, and cultural importance. The Prime Minister appreciated Sikkim’s unity, cultural richness, and steady development, assuring support for the state’s aspirations.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that under the Prime Minister’s guidance, Sikkim would continue to move forward toward a secure, prosperous, and dignified future.
