Ankita Konwar has made history by becoming the first Assamese woman to complete a full Ironman triathlon. She achieved the feat at the Ironman Barcelona event, successfully finishing the race, which included a 3.8 km swim, 180 km cycling, and a 42.2 km marathon run.

Actor and fitness icon Milind Soman, her husband, joined in celebrating the milestone on Instagram, praising her determination and describing her performance as “magic words on the magic carpet.” He added that he was “incredibly proud” to witness her achievement.

The event also marked Milind Soman’s second full Ironman, a decade after his first. He noted that he finished more than 30 minutes faster this time, remarking, “Sixty is the new fifty,” and emphasizing that the race reinforced his belief that “anything is possible.”

Earlier this year, the couple participated in Ironman 70.3 Estonia, overcoming freezing waters, rainy conditions, and a challenging course. Ankita completed the race in 7 hours and 5 minutes, while Milind finished just before the cutoff.

Married since April 2018, the duo’s fitness journey continues to inspire enthusiasts nationwide, showcasing discipline, partnership, and perseverance in sports.
