NFR Officials Pay Tribute to Late Assamese Music Icon Zubeen Garg

Agartala, October 09, 2025: Senior officials from the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Headquarters, Maligaon, on behalf of General Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, paid homage to the late singer, composer, and cultural icon of Assam, Zubeen Garg, at his residence in Kahilipara, Guwahati on Wednesday.

The officials visited Garg’s residence in the evening, offering floral tributes and expressing heartfelt condolences to his family over the untimely demise of the legendary musician. Zubeen Garg was widely celebrated for his exceptional contributions to Assamese music and culture, as well as his impact on the broader Indian music and cultural landscape.

During the visit, the officials met his wife, Garima Saikia Garg, spending time with her to offer their sympathies and support during this difficult period. A memento was also presented on behalf of NFR as a mark of respect and remembrance.

The passing of Zubeen Garg has left a significant void in the cultural fabric of Assam and the Northeast. His enduring legacy continues to inspire generations through his timeless music and dedication to the region’s cultural heritage.
