The 4th Mokokchung Town Inter-Ward Volleyball Tournament began on Wednesday at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex in Mokokchung. The event is organized by the Kumlong Sporting Association under the aegis of the Mokokchung District Volleyball Association with the theme “Forging Champions.”

Chairman of the Mokokchung Municipal Council, Imkongchuba, inaugurated the tournament and encouraged players to view sports as a means of developing discipline, humility, and respect. He emphasized that true sportsmanship goes beyond the court.

In the opening match, Kichutip Ward registered a convincing victory over Penli Ward, winning in straight sets 25-10 and 25-17.
