Agartala, October 9, 2025: The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) has announced a revision of examination and registration fees for both secondary and higher secondary levels across six categories. The new fee structure will come into effect from Friday, Board President Dr. Dhananjay Gan Chowdhury informed at a press conference held in Agartala on Thursday.

Dr. Chowdhury stated that at the secondary level, the examination fee for five subjects has been raised from ₹130 to ₹300, while the vocational fee remains unchanged at ₹75. Consequently, the total fee now stands at ₹375, up from the previous ₹205.

At the higher secondary level, the examination fee has been increased from ₹160 to ₹400, with an additional ₹75 to be paid for each practical subject. The total earlier stood at ₹235.

The registration fee for both levels has also been revised, rising from ₹110 to ₹210. Dr. Chowdhury said the hike applies to six categories — application, registration, practical, center, review, and examination fees — and is in line with the rise in overall commodity prices.

He further informed that the 2026 secondary and higher secondary examinations will commence from the last week of February, with practical examinations scheduled between November 15 and December 5. The distribution of examination forms will begin from January 6, 2026.

Board Secretary Dulal Dey noted that despite the revision, TBSE’s examination fees remain comparatively lower than those in other states.
