Agartala, October 11, 2025: In a sharp attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal, BJP state chief spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty on Saturday alleged that the state has become the “epicenter of dictatorship” under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s government.
Addressing a press conference in Agartala city, Chakraborty accused the Trinamool government of turning Bengal into a “jungle raj” and claimed that people are now eager to end the party’s rule. “The BJP government does not believe in dictatorship. Ours is a people’s government committed to development and democracy,” he asserted.
He further alleged that some Trinamool leaders from West Bengal had recently visited Tripura with the intention of “creating unrest and tarnishing the image of the state government.” However, their “conspiracy failed,” Chakraborty claimed, adding that “the people of Tripura did not pay any attention to their arrival.”
The BJP leader also dismissed the Trinamool Congress’s political relevance in Tripura, stating that it has “no organizational base” in the state. “The people of Tripura have boycotted the Trinamool Congress because they stand for progress, not propaganda,” he said.
Chakraborty concluded by reiterating that the BJP government stands firmly against the “dictatorial culture” of Bengal, emphasizing that Tripura will continue on its path of peace and development.
