Lok Sabha MP Supongmeren Jamir held a review meeting with officials of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), along with contractors and consultants, to assess the progress of ongoing NHIDCL road development projects in Nagaland.

During the meeting in Kohima on Saturday, Jamir expressed serious concern over frequent blockages on the Dimapur–Kohima National Highway 29 section. He also reviewed the progress of the Kohima bypass project and the Kohima–Jessami road project.

NHIDCL Executive Director (Projects) R. P. Singh attributed the delays to natural disruptions, prolonged monsoon periods, technical challenges, and local issues. Speaking on the Kohima bypass, he highlighted technical and local challenges, including tunnel distress, which slowed the progress of Packages 1, 2, and 4, but assured that revised timelines would be met. He further added that the Kohima–Jessami road project is on track for completion by September 2026.
