Three Militants Arrested In Separate Operations Across Manipur

Security forces carried out a series of successful operations across Manipur, resulting in the arrest of three active militants belonging to different proscribed outfits.

An active cadre of the United National Liberation Front (UNLF-K), identified as 29-year-old Bicky Sagolsem of Singjamei Wangma Bheigabati Leikai, Imphal West district, was arrested from Muslim Basti, Moreh, under Moreh Police Station, Tengnoupal district.

In another operation, an active member of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP-Apunba), identified as 25-year-old Haobam Malemnganba Singh alias KGF of Lalambung Makhong Takhellambam Leikai, Imphal West, was apprehended from Lamphel Super Market under Lamphel Police Station. He was reportedly involved in extortion activities targeting the public. Security personnel recovered a mobile phone and a two-wheeler—TVS Jupiter bearing registration number MN01U 1711—from his possession.

Meanwhile, a team of security forces also arrested an active cadre of KCP (PWG), identified as 45-year-old Wangkheirakpam Romeo Meitei alias Baruni alias Koubru of Top Makha Leikai, Imphal East, from his residence under Porompat Police Station. He was allegedly involved in extortion from brick fields and the public in the valley areas. A mobile phone was seized from him during the operation.

All three arrested militants have been handed over to the concerned police stations for further legal action.
