Minister for Power and Parliamentary Affairs K G Kenye has said that talks on the Frontier Nagaland Territory Authority demand by the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) are progressing smoothly.
Addressing a press conference after the State Cabinet meeting in Kohima on Thursday, Kenye expressed hope that the Central Government will handle the matter with sincerity and avoid unnecessary delays in scheduling the next phase of discussions.
He stated that the State Government has already submitted its recommendations to the Centre, which held discussions with the ENPO in August and September. While most issues have been agreed upon, some areas still require further review.
To examine these matters in detail, Kenye informed that a sub-committee has been constituted by the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, including representatives from the ENPO.
