Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Friday held a meeting with representatives from IPE Global, the consultancy firm appointed to prepare the Thenzawl Peace City Master Plan. The meeting at the Chief Minister’s office was also attended by K. Sapdanga, Minister of Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation (UD&PA).
The Chief Minister said Thenzawl Peace City will be Mizoram’s first planned city, envisioned as a clean, organized, and attractive township aimed at promoting tourism and balanced urban growth. He stressed the importance of high-quality planning and urged the consultancy team to work with dedication and excellence. He also highlighted that the State Project Monitoring Committee would review and monitor the project’s progress as needed.
The IPE Global team shared their experience in similar projects both within India and internationally and presented their approach for developing the Peace City. The pre-bid queries for the project attracted 18 reputed firms, underlining its scale and significance. Following the tender process, IPE Global was selected as the project consultant.
Operating in over 100 countries with 20 offices across India, IPE Global will open its Mizoram office within three weeks and start work immediately. The visiting team was led by Anil Bansal, Senior Development Expert, along with other technical experts. Senior government officials, including Sudir Kumar, Principal Secretary, GAD, and Lalmalsawma Pachuau, Secretary, UD&PA, were also present.
