The four-day Ranji Trophy Plate Group fixture between Sikkim and Manipur at the Sikkim Cricket Ground concluded in a draw on Saturday, after both sides produced evenly matched performances across four days of play.
Sikkim, resuming their second innings, declared at 329 for 6, setting Manipur a target of 297 runs. With limited time left in the match, both captains agreed to call off play, sealing a draw.
Earlier in the day, Manipur looked poised for a breakthrough after claiming four wickets in the morning session. However, a resilient 155-run unbroken partnership between Gurinder Singh (100 not out) and Kranthi Kumar (63 not out) steadied Sikkim’s innings and denied Manipur any chance of forcing a result. Contributions also came from Ashish Thapa (45) and Arun Chettri (41).
In the first innings, Sikkim had posted 308, to which Manipur replied with 340, securing a 32-run lead. That advantage earned Manipur three points from the encounter.
Manipur’s Priyojit Singh, who struck his maiden first-class century (102), was named Player of the Match for his standout performance.
