Security forces carried out a series of successful operations across Manipur on October 24, 2025, resulting in the arrest of three active insurgents belonging to different outlawed groups and the seizure of arms, contraband, and illegal items.

In Churachandpur district, an active cadre of the United Kuki National Army (UKNA), identified as Haominthang Haokip (18) of Old Gelmoul, was apprehended from his residence under Churachandpur Police Station. One pistol with two live rounds, an Aadhaar card, and a mobile phone were seized from his possession. Police sources revealed that he was involved in extortion and illegal fund collection in the Churachandpur town area.

On the same day, security forces arrested an active member of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) – Taibanganba faction, identified as Salam Sushil Singh (23) of Kakching Wairi Bamon Pareng, Kakching district. A mobile phone, Aadhaar card, and PAN card were recovered from him.

In another operation, an active cadre of the Revolutionary People’s Front/People’s Liberation Army (RPF/PLA), Shamjetsabam Sanjit Singh (42) alias Inaobi alias Nongshaba of Sangaithel Makha Leikai under Patsoi Police Station, Imphal West, was arrested from his locality. A mobile phone was seized from his possession.

Meanwhile, Manipur Police and Customs Division, Imphal, jointly intercepted two trucks transporting 8,099 kilograms of betel nuts without valid documents. The vehicles—one Tata 12-wheeler truck and one Ashok Leyland truck—along with their drivers and conductors, were handed over to the Customs Division, Imphal for further legal action.

Additionally, the District Police, Imphal West seized 1,100 dices used for “Lagao Maru” gambling from various locations during the Diwali festival, as part of its drive against illegal gambling activities.
