Agartala, October 29, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday called upon the Janajati community to remain vigilant against attempts by certain groups to create division and spread misinformation.
Addressing a joining programme organised by Simna Mandal, Dr. Saha asserted that the present government is committed to the holistic development of Janajati-inhabited areas and is working on priority to ensure all welfare schemes reach the targeted beneficiaries.
Highlighting the government’s financial commitment, the Chief Minister informed that in the 2024–25 fiscal year, approximately Rs 6,500 crore constituting 39.06 percent of the total expenditure was allocated for the development of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) regions. For 2025–26, an increased allocation of Rs 7,149 crore has been earmarked.
He reaffirmed the government’s vision of “Ek Tripura, Shrestha Tripura” and urged the public to reject attempts aimed at spreading baseless narratives. “A section is still trying to mislead the people despite the government’s continuous efforts to uplift the Janajati areas,” he said.
The event witnessed 1,406 voters from 375 families joining the Bharatiya Janata Party, which party leaders claimed reflected growing support from the Janajati community ahead of the upcoming ADC elections.
Dr. Saha further stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is tirelessly working to enhance the socio-economic status of the tribal population.
BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma, former MP Rebati Tripura and BJP state general secretary Bipin Debbarma were among the leaders present at the programme.
