Project Empathy, in collaboration with Assam Rifles Public School, launched an empathy-themed art exhibition titled ‘I Am With You’ at All Saints Hall in Shillong. The exhibition was inaugurated by Chief Justice of Meghalaya, Justice Soumen Sen, in the presence of principals, teachers, students, and members of the Assam Rifles fraternity.

The exhibition celebrates empathy as both an emotion and a practice, featuring artworks by students from various schools that portray stories of connection, healing, and shared humanity.

Addressing the gathering, Justice Sen highlighted the importance of compassion in everyday life, stating that young artists remind society that empathy can be expressed through simple acts—recognizing pain, offering help, and celebrating others’ joys. He expressed hope that the exhibition would encourage more inclusive and understanding communities.

Students of Assam Rifles Public School also presented an empathy-themed song and a Nukkad Natak (street play), spreading messages of kindness and understanding through creative performances.

The founder of Project Empathy announced plans to establish the Indian Empathy Institution, which will focus on promoting empathy education in schools as part of broader efforts toward mental health awareness and nation-building.

Director General of Assam Rifles, Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, emphasized the force’s continued engagement with communities in remote regions of the Northeast, underscoring that empathy remains vital to strengthening human connection.

The exhibition will remain open to visitors from October 29 to 31 at All Saints Hall, inviting the public to experience how art can inspire compassion, healing, and unity.
