Manipur’s Lanchenba Singh Moibungkhongbam Enters Final At Asian Youth Games 2025

Manipur’s Lanchenba Singh Moibungkhongbam advanced to the finals of the Asian Youth Games 2025 after a commanding 5-0 victory over Korea in the men’s 50kg boxing semifinal held in Manama on Tuesday. His victory highlighted India’s strong performance in the boxing competition.

Alongside Lanchenba, five other Indian boxers also made their way into the finals. In the women’s events, Khushi Chand (46kg) registered a 5-0 win against Mongolia, while Chandrika Bhoreshi Pujari (54kg) defeated Kazakhstan by the same scoreline. Harnoor Kaur (66kg) dominated Chinese Taipei 5-0, and Anshika (80+kg) recorded another clean 5-0 victory over China. Ahaana (50kg) battled past Uzbekistan 3-2 to secure her place in the final.

In the men’s 66kg category, Anant Deshmukh earned a bronze medal after a closely contested semifinal loss to Kazakhstan.

India has so far won 27 medals across various sports, comprising four gold, ten silver, and thirteen bronze. The country currently stands ninth in the overall medal tally. A total of 222 Indian athletes, including 119 women and 103 men, are competing in 21 sports at the Asian Youth Games, which will conclude on Thursday.
