Following concerns over high airfares and limited flight connectivity from Imphal, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has assured swift action to improve air travel options for Manipur.
On Monday, MLA Leishangthem Susindro Meitei met the Secretary of Civil Aviation in New Delhi and submitted a memorandum. Senior officials from the Ministry confirmed that two new flights will be added soon — one each on the Imphal–Guwahati and Imphal–Kolkata routes.
In addition, the Ministry is working to introduce a cap on maximum airfare, likely around ₹7,000, to provide much-needed relief to travellers facing exorbitant ticket prices.
