Agartala, November 04, 2025: Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu undertook a one-day visit to Kailashahar, the district headquarters of Unakoti, on Tuesday to inspect the India-Bangladesh international border and interact with residents of the border areas.

The Governor began his day at 10:30 AM with a brief rest at the Circuit House before heading to Khawrabil village, where he offered prayers at the revered Chaturdash Devta Temple. Following the ritual, he participated in a community meeting with local farmers at the temple’s Natmandir.

The discussion was attended by several senior officials, including State Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma, Unakoti District Magistrate Dr. Tamal Majumdar, Superintendent of Police Sudhambika R, and other administrative and elected representatives.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Nallu emphasized his intent to assess whether residents in the border regions are receiving the benefits of central and state government schemes. He specifically mentioned programs such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (housing), Ujjwala Yojana (LPG connections), health insurance, and agricultural support including seeds and fertilizers.

The Governor also visited the international border at Debipur and inspected stalls set up by self-help groups at the BSF’s Border Outpost in Latiyapura. He engaged with local farmers to understand their challenges and later proceeded to the border area in Safrikandi as part of his itinerary.

The visit highlights the administration’s commitment to ensuring inclusive development and monitoring the implementation of welfare schemes in remote and sensitive border regions.
