Two Arrested with Yaba Tablets worth ₹3 Lakh and Cash of ₹3.5 Lakh in North Tripura

Agartala, November 6, 2025: Tripura’s Anandabazar Police Station personnel intercepted a motorcycle during a routine vehicle check at the Anandabazar checkpoint late on Wednesday night and seized a large quantity of narcotic tablets along with cash.

According to police sources, a Bajaj Pulsar bearing registration number TR02G-9733, traveling from Dharmanagar to Kailashahar was stopped for inspection. During the search, officers discovered a packet hidden beneath the seat, which contained 2,000 Yaba tablets packed in 10 small packets. The estimated market value of the seized narcotics is around ₹3 lakh.

In addition, police recovered ₹3.5 lakh in cash from the suspects. The two individuals arrested have been identified as Sonar Ali (40) and Faizar Ali (41), both residents under the jurisdiction of Irani Police Station in Unakoti district.

The accused have been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway to trace the source and intended destination of the contraband.
