Gangtok, Nov 11: Chief Minister of Sikkim Prem Singh Tamang attended Bharat Parv 2025, organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat. The event, held at the Statue of Unity, marked the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and was hosted outside Delhi for the first time.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said Bharat Parv represents India’s unity in diversity and the collective spirit that binds the nation. He described the event as a platform showcasing the country’s rich cultural heritage, traditional arts, crafts, cuisine, and tourism potential.
Tamang commended the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in transforming Bharat Parv into a national celebration of unity and pride. He also thanked Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi for successfully hosting the event at the Statue of Unity.
The Chief Minister acknowledged the Central Government’s initiatives to honour national icons, including Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, Maharshi Aurobindo, and Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.
The festival featured vibrant cultural performances such as Rajasthan’s Maand, Kerala’s Kathakali, Assam’s Bihu, Punjab’s Bhangra, and Sikkim’s Singhi, Yak, and Maruni dances. Attractions like the “Bharat Darshan” Pavilion, craft and food stalls, and a special presentation on Bhagwan Birsa Munda Jayanti added colour and depth to the celebrations.

He described Gujarat as “the sacred land of Lord Krishna, the karma-bhoomi of Mahatma Gandhi, and the veera-bhoomi of Sardar Patel,” calling it a symbol of national inspiration and pride.
The Chief Minister extended appreciation to the organising committee, participating states, artists, and dignitaries for contributing to the success of Bharat Parv 2025.
