Agartala, November 14, 2025: Former Tripura Chief Minister and BJP MP Biplab Kumar Deb launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC), likening the party to a “photocopy of the Communists” and accusing it of inflicting prolonged suffering on the people of West Bengal. Speaking at a BJP induction rally in the Alipurduar Assembly constituency, Deb expressed confidence that the people of Bengal would elect the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming elections.
Taking a sharp dig at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Deb questioned her contributions to the public, alleging, “What has the Chief Minister given to the people? She has only gifted them her nephew.” He claimed that the TMC government is focused solely on securing employment for the Chief Minister’s nephew, while the BJP, if voted to power, would ensure job opportunities for every youth in the state.
Deb further asserted that Bengal, once one of India’s most prosperous states, has suffered economically due to decades of Left rule followed by the TMC’s governance. “There was a time when people from other states came to Bengal for work. Now, due to misgovernance, people from Bengal are migrating to other states as laborers,” he said.
On the issue of FIRs (First Information Reports), Deb emphasized that the law mandates action wherever a crime occurs, irrespective of political affiliations. “FIRs are part of the administrative process, not political vendetta. Political parties should focus on standing by the people,” he added.
Deb concluded by reiterating that the people of Bengal are yearning for change and will bring the BJP to power in the forthcoming elections.
