Arunachal: Tawang Officials Hold Coordination Meeting Ahead Of Panchayat Elections 2025

A coordination and briefing session for Sector Officers, Nodal Officers, and their teams was held on Friday at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Tawang. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner–cum–District Election Officer (PR) Namgyal Angmo, IAS, and attended by Dy. DEO (PR) Rinchin Leta, Superintendent of Police Dr. D.W. Thongon, along with all designated officers and support staff.

Deputy Commissioner Namgyal Angmo urged all officers to perform their duties with diligence, directing Sector Officers to inspect polling stations, assess basic requirements, identify gaps, and report issues promptly. She also highlighted the importance of vulnerability assessment to ensure smooth and secure polling.

Dy. DEO Rinchin Leta briefed the officers on their roles and responsibilities, noting that 87 polling stations in the district have been divided into 16 sectors for effective management. He emphasized the availability of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMFs) at every polling station and explained the functions of Flying Squad Teams and Static Surveillance Teams to maintain transparency and adherence to the election model code.

Superintendent of Police Dr. D.W. Thongon outlined the police deployment and communication plan for the election period. Based on police vulnerability mapping, 32 polling stations have been classified as sensitive, while 55 are listed as normal. He noted that these classifications may be updated as the election process progresses.

The meeting concluded with a call for coordinated, proactive, and disciplined efforts to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful Panchayat Election 2025 in Tawang district.
