Agartala, November 25, 2025: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Monday reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ensuring that the benefits of all central and state welfare schemes reach the most marginalized sections of society.
Speaking at Pragya Bhavan in Agartala after inaugurating a series of Rural Development Department projects, Dr. Saha highlighted that Tripura recently secured seven national Panchayat Awards, earning prize money amounting to ₹10 crore. “This recognition is the result of your collective efforts,” he told officials and stakeholders.
The newly launched initiatives include the Chief Minister Gram Sampak Yojana, Chief Minister Tripura Gram Samriddhi Yojana 2.0, Mega Griha Pravesh, release of achievement booklets, and felicitation of high-performing districts and blocks.
Dr. Saha said the government is consistently implementing flagship programs aimed at improving rural livelihoods. “It is crucial that the benefits of government projects reach the last person. The Rural Development Department acts as the nodal body for implementing central and state schemes, as well as externally aided projects,” he said, noting their work in employment generation, sanitation, capacity building, infrastructure, and women’s socio-economic empowerment.
He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on inclusive development aligns with Tripura’s rural-focused governance model.
“Seventy-five percent of Tripura’s population lives in rural areas. Our government is committed to improving their social status and securing their future,” the Chief Minister stated. He also credited PM Modi for enabling thousands of households in the state to finally have a permanent roof over their heads.
Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Rural Development Secretary Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary Kuntal Das, Panchayat Director Prasun De, and other senior officials attended the programme.
