The Manipur Police on Monday, November 24, arrested a 25-year-old digital content creator for allegedly producing and circulating videos containing suggestive and provocative material intended to incite mistrust among social groups.

The accused, identified as Yumkhaibam Shantikumar of Tangkham Awang Leikai, Haraorou, Pangei Yangdong in Imphal East district, was reportedly filming random individuals and posing questions that could encourage conspiracy narratives, criminal intimidation, and the spread of misinformation.

Police officials said the content had the potential to disturb public harmony and deepen distrust at a time when the State continues to remain sensitive to communal tensions. An investigation has been launched to determine the motive behind the videos and whether they formed part of a coordinated effort to disseminate false information.

Authorities have urged digital creators to act responsibly and avoid activities that may undermine public peace or violate legal provisions.
