Agartala, November 29, 2025: A violent incident took place on Saturday morning in Ichharbil Sholghoria under Teliamura police station of Khowai district, when local residents attacked an unidentified man on suspicion of child trafficking.

According to locals, the man was seen engaging in suspicious conversation with children in the area, which quickly aroused public suspicion. Within moments, an agitated crowd surrounded him and began beating him mercilessly. The assault continued on the roadside, leaving the man severely injured and bleeding before collapsing on the ground.

Police from Teliamura station rushed to the spot upon receiving information and managed to bring the situation under control. The injured man was rescued and admitted to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment.

Authorities later confirmed that the individual is a resident of Bihar. However, the reason for his presence in the locality remains unclear, and police have initiated questioning.

The incident has triggered heightened tension across the area, with law enforcement launching a full-scale investigation. Officials have urged residents to remain vigilant but warned against taking the law into their own hands, stressing that mob justice is both dangerous and illegal.
