BJP Allotted 35 Government Plots In Assam Since 2016 For Party Offices, Says Minister Keshab Mahanta

Guwahati, Nov 29: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been allotted government land at 35 locations across Assam since 2016 to set up party offices, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Keshab Mahanta informed the Assam Legislative Assembly on Friday.

Responding to a question from Independent MLA Akhil Gogoi, Mahanta said that besides the BJP, 13 other organizations, including political parties, received government land in different districts during the same period.

Among the BJP allotments, Dibrugarh and Nalbari districts received the highest number, with five plots each. Dhubri, Kamrup Metropolitan, and Sonitpur districts were allotted three plots each.

Since May 10, 2016, government land in 13 locations has been allocated to other organizations, with Dhubri district receiving the largest share at seven allotments. Beneficiaries include BJP’s ally Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), the Indian National Congress, and the Dibrugarh District Journalist Association.
