*Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang Distributes 351 Cheques under Self Employment Assistance Scheme*
Gangtok, Nov 29: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Saturday distributed 351 cheques to beneficiaries under various government schemes at a programme organised by the Chief Minister’s Office in collaboration with the Commerce and Industries Department at Chintan Bhawan.
Addressing the gathering, CM Tamang outlined the criteria for cheque distribution and emphasised the state government’s commitment to supporting youth and entrepreneurs. He cited examples of individuals who have benefitted from these schemes and highlighted that this marks the first phase of distribution. He also mentioned a recent three-day coordination meeting with state departments to ensure smoother service delivery and announced that five outstanding entrepreneurs would be recognised.
Secretary of the Chief Minister’s Office, Karma Namgyal Bhutia, detailed the beneficiaries: 40 cheques under the Chief Minister’s Discretionary Grant, 286 under the Chief Minister’s Self Employment Assistance Scheme, and 25 under the Chief Minister’s Education Assistance Scheme, including four students identified through the Connect to CM initiative.
The programme featured a video presentation showcasing beneficiaries of the Self Employment Assistance Scheme before CM Tamang formally distributed the 351 cheques. Beneficiaries from six districts, along with officials and dignitaries, attended the event.
